The emergency department provides assessment, treatment, and stabilization for all urgency levels, with patients triaged using the Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale (CTAS) to ensure the most critical cases are seen first. As a small rural facility within the Alberta Health Services network, it is best suited for general emergencies and urgent care, with complex trauma or specialized cases stabilized and transferred to larger regional centres such as Red Deer or Calgary.
