Real-time ER wait times for Canadians
ERstat aggregates emergency room wait time data from official Canadian health authority sources and makes it available in one free, easy-to-use platform. Instead of calling around or driving to an ER only to find a four-hour wait, you can check current conditions before you leave home.
Wait times are sourced directly from provincial health systems and updated every 15 minutes. No ads, no accounts required to view data.
Nova Scotia — Official wait time predictions from the NS Health API, which uses historical patient volumes, staffing levels, and real-time ER occupancy to generate forecasts for all 29 NS emergency departments. Closure notices are also sourced directly from NS Health.
Ontario — Wait time data aggregated from multiple Ontario hospital systems including Oculys (used by many Ontario Health Teams), Hamilton Health Sciences, Lakeridge Health, London Health Sciences Centre, Halton Healthcare, University Health Network, William Osler Health System, and Trillium Health Partners. ~50 hospitals live and expanding.
More provinces coming — Alberta, BC, and Quebec are next. Each has centralized provincial data systems we are actively working to integrate.
ERstat provides wait time estimates for informational purposes only. This is not medical advice. Wait times are estimates and actual conditions may vary.
Emergency departments use triage — patients with more serious conditions are always seen first, regardless of arrival time or displayed wait.
If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 immediately.
Are you an emergency department administrator or staff member? ERstat offers a free hospital portal that lets your team post closure notices, update ER status, and provide accurate hours directly to patients searching for care.
