Western Memorial Regional Hospital is the primary acute care facility for western Newfoundland, serving a regional population of approximately 82,000 people from its modern seven-storey building at 100 Health Care Crescent in Corner Brook. The Emergency Department operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and is divided into a Fast Track clinic for lower-acuity concerns and a main Emergency Department for more serious cases, supported by a full range of specialist services including critical care, oncology, cardiovascular care, mental health, and obstetrics. Opened in June 2024, this LEED Silver-certified facility is purpose-built for patient dignity and safety, featuring a seniors-friendly ED design, private inpatient rooms, and direct elevator access linking mental health services to the Emergency Department.
