The Marshall Eliuk Peace River Community Health Centre, operated by Alberta Health Services, is the primary acute care facility serving Peace River and the broader northern Alberta region. Its eight-bed emergency department operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, staffed by physicians, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and respiratory therapists who assess patients using the standardized Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale (CTAS). As a regional hub on Treaty 8 territory, this facility offers a broad scope of services — including cancer care, cardiac diagnostics, and mental health — that reduce the need for northern residents to travel to larger centres like Grande Prairie or Edmonton.
