The Emergency Department has its own dedicated entrance, separate from the main hospital entrance. Look for Emergency Department signage when arriving at 150 Exhibition Street, Kentville. ATMs are available both in the ED and the main lobby.
Does Valley Regional Hospital treat children in the Emergency Department?
Yes. Children requiring urgent treatment or observation are initially assessed and cared for in the Emergency Department. If a child requires more than 24 hours of observation, they will either be discharged or admitted to the Pediatric Inpatient Unit.

Valley Regional Hospital has on-site Diagnostic Imaging including CT scans, X-ray, and ultrasound. During an ED visit, your treating physician or nurse practitioner can order imaging directly as part of your emergency care.
What are the visiting hours at Valley Regional Hospital?
Standard visiting hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Visits outside these hours may be arranged in consultation with nursing staff. Nova Scotia Health's Family Presence Policy allows patients to designate up to two primary support persons who may be present during their care.
