Yes, Fraser Canyon Hospital operates a 24/7 emergency department focused on stabilization and triage. It is a small 10-bed community hospital, so patients with complex trauma, cardiac emergencies, or stroke will be stabilized and then transferred by BC Ambulance Services — by air or road — to Abbotsford Regional Hospital or Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster.
What happens if I need specialized care that Fraser Canyon Hospital can't provide?

Patients requiring advanced trauma, cardiac, or stroke care are transferred to Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre or Royal Columbian Hospital, which is Fraser Health's designated trauma and cardiac centre in New Westminster.
Is Fraser Canyon Hospital good for highway accident injuries near Hope, BC?
Yes. Given Hope's location at the junction of Highway 1 and Highway 7, Fraser Canyon Hospital is set up specifically to handle highway-related emergencies and traveller injuries. It provides critical stabilization and triage for those injured on surrounding roads and can coordinate transfer to regional trauma centres when needed.
Does Fraser Canyon Hospital offer services beyond emergency care?
Yes. In addition to 24/7 emergency care, the hospital offers general medicine, ambulatory care, surgical daycare, laboratory and X-ray services, outpatient rehabilitation, diabetes education, nutrition counselling, long-term care, and hospice and palliative care services.
