About Delta Hospital

Delta Hospital is a 58-bed acute-care community hospital and Level V trauma centre operated by Fraser Health, serving more than 100,000 residents across Ladner, Tsawwassen, North Delta, and the Tsawwassen First Nation. The Emergency Department runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with 10 acute beds, 10 observation beds, a dedicated trauma room, negative pressure isolation rooms, and a fast-track stream for lower-acuity patients — seeing approximately 34,000 patients annually. Best Times to Visit

🟢 Quieter times

If your condition is not life-threatening, mid-morning on weekdays (Tuesday through Thursday) tends to be quieter at community emergency departments. Arriving earlier in the day generally means shorter waits before the afternoon and evening surge begins.

🔴 Busier times

Emergency departments across Canada — including Delta Hospital — are typically busiest on Monday mornings (after weekend illnesses accumulate), Friday and Saturday evenings, and during holiday periods. Avoid these times if your condition is non-urgent.
