Delta Hospital is a 58-bed acute-care community hospital and Level V trauma centre operated by Fraser Health, serving more than 100,000 residents across Ladner, Tsawwassen, North Delta, and the Tsawwassen First Nation. The Emergency Department runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with 10 acute beds, 10 observation beds, a dedicated trauma room, negative pressure isolation rooms, and a fast-track stream for lower-acuity patients — seeing approximately 34,000 patients annually. This is the right choice for urgent medical needs in South Delta; patients requiring advanced cardiac intervention, major trauma, or pediatric subspecialty care may be transferred to larger Fraser Health facilities such as Surrey Memorial or Royal Columbian Hospital.

Parking & Transit

On-site parking at Delta Hospital is free of charge. A municipal bylaw passed in 2010 — the first of its kind in the Lower Mainland — prohibits pay parking at the hospital. Parking spaces for patients and visitors are available directly outside the hospital entrance.

Delta Hospital is one of the most transit-accessible facilities in South Delta. The Ladner Exchange bus loop is located immediately adjacent to the hospital and serves multiple TransLink routes including the 310, 601, 606, 608, 609, 610, 616, 618, and 620. Note that Delta does not currently have SkyTrain service; Ladner Exchange is the primary transit hub for the area.

• Use the fast-track stream if your condition is minor — Delta Hospital's ER has dedicated fast-track chairs for lower-acuity patients, which can mean shorter waits for non-urgent issues.
• Parking is free — no coins or payment app needed. Spaces are available right outside the main entrance, so arriving by car is straightforward even during stressful visits.
• If you're taking transit, the Ladner Exchange bus loop is right next door. Routes 601, 606, 608, 609, 610, 616, 618, 620, and 310 all stop there, making this one of the easiest hospital sites to reach by bus in South Delta.
• For complex conditions such as major trauma, advanced cardiac events, or pediatric subspecialties, Delta Hospital may arrange transfer to Surrey Memorial Hospital or Royal Columbian Hospital — be prepared for this possibility and mention any known conditions upon arrival.
• The hospital maintains a strict scent-free policy. Avoid wearing perfume or cologne and leave scented flowers at home when visiting patients, as this applies throughout the facility.
