Organized into six specialized zones — including resuscitation and trauma, acute psychiatric care, urgent care, and a dedicated pediatric area — this 751-bed regional hospital is equipped to handle everything from life-threatening emergencies to complex multi-system conditions. As a University of Toronto-affiliated teaching hospital and home to specialized regional programs in cardiac surgery, neurosurgery, stroke care, and vascular services, this is one of the most comprehensive acute care facilities in Ontario.

Tips Before You Go

• This is one of the largest EDs in Canada — if your condition is non-life-threatening, consider calling 811 (Health811) first to determine whether an ER visit is truly necessary.
• A dedicated THP shuttle runs between Mississauga Hospital, Queensway Health Centre, and Credit Valley Hospital — useful if you need to transfer between THP sites.
• Use the HPASS parking card if you or a family member will be visiting frequently; it provides a discounted rate and is transferable among caregivers and family members.
• If you need an escorted walk to your car or a bus stop at any hour, THP's Safe Walk program is available 24/7 — ask at the security desk.
• The Pharma Plus pharmacy in the Main Lobby can fill prescriptions before you leave, so bring your health card and any relevant prescription information to your visit.

Parking

Parking is available on-site via surface lots and a parking garage with a gated system. Rates are $3.75 per half hour with a daily maximum of $19.00 or a $25 day pass. HPASS multi-day discount cards (available in 5, 10, 30, or 100-day increments) can be purchased at the Parking Office and are transferable between patients, family members, and caregivers. Eight pay stations are on-site, overnight parking is permitted, and Electric Vehicle Charging Stations are available at $1.70/hour (HST included). The facility is fully wheelchair accessible.

Getting There

Mississauga Hospital is located near the QEW in Mississauga's south end and is served by MiWay bus stops and a TTC shuttle bus stop near the North and Emergency Entrances along Queensway West. A free THP shuttle bus also connects Mississauga Hospital with Queensway Health Centre and Credit Valley Hospital for patients, visitors, and staff.
