The ED operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with on-call physicians, nurses, and health professionals who assess and treat urgent and life-threatening conditions without requiring a referral. As a community acute care hospital, Almonte General is well-suited for most emergencies; patients requiring advanced trauma, cardiac, or stroke intervention may be stabilized and transferred to larger Ottawa-area hospitals.
